Early Years- Ages 3-5 (EY3-KG)
At TIS our Early Years program focuses on developing social, emotional, gross and fine motor skills as well as cognitive skills. Developing these skills through play-based learning is an essential part of our program. Through play students learn the social, emotional skills needed to collaborate with each other and practice key language skills, mainly listening and speaking. Children explore their environment and learn about their world through play based learning and through relationships with peers, teachers, family and community. The learning environment includes both indoor, outdoor experiences and through manipulation of various materials.
Our program is an English only learning environment where our early learners begin to use language to communicate knowledge, feelings and emotions and learn through inquiring about their world around them. Careful planning by qualified teachers allows TIS to offer a well-designed Early Years program where children can learn and play in appropriate environments individually or in groups. These environments are flexible, enriching and conducive to interactions so children and teachers can build relationships and construct knowledge together.
